The Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA) – Residential Program, funded by the Chicago Department of Public Health, offers program participants living with HIV/AIDS and possessing a co-occurring Mental Illness and Substance Abuse diagnosis access to partial rent subsidies based on need, imminence of family displacement, level of impairment, etc. as well as basic case management assistance.  Program staff also assists in establishing relationships with local landlords to increase affordable housing for persons with HIV/AIDS.
