Part-Time Peer Engagement Specialist

Pilsen Wellness Center, Inc. is a community-based not-for-profit agency that provides culturally sensitive services to a multicultural population with limited financial resources. The organization’s mission has remained providing quality human services to economically disadvantaged children and families. The agency is comprised of five divisions – Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Early Intervention, Youth Services and Education which are currently supported through 14 different locations.

The Drop in Center Program at our Southeast location (2938 E 89th St. Chicago, IL 60617) is seeking a part-time Certified Recovery Support Specialist to join our Team.

POSITION SUMMARY: This individual will provide peer support services to clients with mental illnesses. The CRSS will function as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serve as a consumer advocate, providing information and peer support for clients in outpatient settings.

Work Schedule: Thu – Sun 8am – 4pm

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED; 2,000 hours (one year) paid/supervised work experience; 100 hours supervision in the CRSS performance domain and Successful completion of written exam for CRSS and maintained valid.
